Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Dr. Savioli obtained two degrees: Honours B.Sc. (Biology major) and B.Sc. (psychology major) at Lakehead University. He completed his optometric training and education at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry graduating in 2011. As a part of his training, Dr. Savioli completed his ocular disease internship at OMNI eye services in Atlanta, Georgia with a focus on corneal diseases, cataracts, diabetes, macular degeneration and glaucoma. Dr. Savioli is also a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists where he currently sits on the board of directors, chairs the scope expansion committee and is a member of the remuneration committee. Dr. Savioli is also fully certified by the College of Optometrists of Ontario to prescribe medication for the treatment of various ocular diseases. He is passionate about living and working in Thunder Bay, and continues to support local arts, sports and businesses.
